BsSDK.dll missing from computer windows 8

Asked by MR55001 on 08/05/2013 at 5:59 PM
I've just purchased a new computer (HP desktop with windows 8), and have done all the required downloads, etc. The problem I'm having, is that when I first turn my computer on and go into any program, like my e-mail etc., I get this error message in a small window that appears on the screen, with the heading: BtTray.exe - System Error. That message has a red circle with a white X in the middle of it and states: The program can't start because BsSDK.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem. At the bottom right corner of that window, there is an [OK] tab. Before I click this tab the my selection (email etc.) appears with no problem. I click the tab anyway, and the small error message window disappears. It never appears again, until I restart my computer again (after turning it off), and go to my email or other program.

P.S. I'm new to computers, and come from the ancient typewriter era. So I'm not too familiar with computer language, yet. I have gone to my browser and typed in BsSDK.dll download...Long story short. I want to make sure I get a reputable download. Is there a microsoft link that would have this, so I don't run into future problems...Thank you for any assistance in this matter. MR

Had the same problem with windows 8. All I did was to hit windows button + R, type in msconfig, click on start up tab, then open task manager, then hit the start up tab in the task manager, find bluetooth application, and right click to get to disable. I then restarted and error message was gone.

Actually- go to support.hp.com and put in the model number of your computer. Then go into the drivers downloads and locate the Ralink Bluetooth driver. At least most of the time it is Ralink as that is the common driver for HP computers. Bttray.exe is the bluetooth tray, and the drivers appear to be getting corrupted lately.
