Multipe folders created named: "the file so that changes to the file will be reflected in your item."

Asked by DPM2009 on 07/23/2013 at 5:37 PM

Applied Office 2010 SP2 today.

Every time I start Outlook, a new folder is automatically created with the same name: "the file so that changes to the file will be reflected in your item."

Except for one folder, all folders can be manually removed, but the folders will return upon an outlook restart.

How can this be stopped from happening?

Cheers,

Dave

The problem occurs in connection with Norton Internet Security. I have disabled NIS Anti-Spam. New folders are no longer generated. I now wait for the final solution of Norton!

Noticed same problem in Outlook 2010 that appears to have started a about a week ago based on the number of folders created. Disabling Anti-Spam stopped the problem and permitted me to delete all of the folders.

    Same Problem.
Thanks to Bernd for the Solution.
Norton Internet Security, Einstellungen, Netzwerk, Schutz vor Nachrichten, AntiSpam auf Aus.

Hope NIS will fix this Problem.

disabling NIS in Norton worked for me. I was able to delete ALL the folders. Now we will see what happens when I enable NIS. Outlook (Exchange Server) has been on this computer for 2 years and suddenly these files started multiplying a couple of weeks ago.
    Thanks for the tip.

The issues have nothing to do with Norton. I believe SP2 Update is the culprit. Not only did it create the folder problems, it also removed the Send To OneNote printer driver. I resolved the issues by uninstalling Office 2010 SP2 and repairing Office 2010 to reinstall the printer driver. Hope this works for you.
