Players rallied around the idea of a bulkier

The irony is that while players loathed the'closing' armor shown earlier this year, they adored the prototypes shown when best skill for money osrs the raid was declared. Initially, the Justicar armor was bulkier and part of a trio of new armor sets, West tells me, but since the Theatre of Blood went from vague idea to real material, the armor shifted with it. Participants said there was sufficient DPS equipment but insufficient tank gear, so it was narrowed down to just one armor set. And if they were only going to use one set, Jagex guessed they might also create a new one based on the armor worn with the raid's big bad.

"We thought changing it a bit made sense," West says,"but players were not quite on board with all the original proposal we shared stream. And , well, Reddit went crazy."

The memes came out hard and fast. Some players said it was too similar to existing armor, including armor out of Runescape 3, the newer, mainline version of Runescape. Others believed the new armor did not look tanky enough and generously provided some choices, with some calling for a more extreme redesign.

It got so bad that some players started to seriously feel a meme the updated armor was by another artist, which the artist that made the prototypes had left Jagex. But then something amazing occurred. Even as memes blotted out the sun, gradually but surely severe suggestions began to glow through. It began with primitive Photoshop jobs, but soon proper illustrations and fan art started to crop up. Players rallied around the idea of a bulkier, blessed armor group motivated by the Runescape god Saradomin, so they moved back to West's prototype designs and made some changes.

Inspired from the memes and motivated by elements of West's designs along with other players' ideas, legend_arts created a hybrid armor design so great it not merely silenced the memes, it got the attention of West himself.

"When I first pitched into the neighborhood over Twitch, I was anticipating a bit of a response," West says. "Because when you how to make money fast on runescape are revealing best-in-slot items, you have either got no response--that is exactly what you are planning for really because that means they are happy--or you receive an extremely loud response that, as we've seen on Reddit, is exactly what happened. Of course, what I didn't expect was for a different artist to pop up in. But when Legend_Arts posted his theory where he left it bright and shiny, it made like 10,000 upvotes on Reddit, which is why I then went onto the livestream to let them watch me build it."
