Update for Microsoft Security Essentials - 4.4.304.0 (KB2902885) Fails

I've notice that there has been an update wanting to install every day for weeks now when I shut down my computer.

Note that when I try to install the from Windows Update it creates a folder on the E drive (a shared internal drive)  e:\b349445d5e1b67b23c80ded8\amd64\. The error is
The feature you are trying to install is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'epp.msi' in the box below.

I answered the following questions on another person's post with the same problem. I knew better, so here's my answers.

1. Built it 10/2011 installed Win 7 64 Pro SP1 fresh. Have done some updates to hardware since. Intel i5-2500K 16GB ram
2a. MSE was downloaded and installed.
2b. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Security Client folder date created 11/3/2011
2c. Antimalware Client Version: 4.3.219.0
3. No anti-virus program came with the computer.
4a. Java tries to send you McAfee and that got through once. Uninstalled without running it.
5. Is KB2888505, KB2876331, KB2900986, KB2868626 and/or KB2875783 listed in Installed Updates? Yes all installed 11/14/13
6. IE10
7. Adobe Flash Player 11,9,900,152 now installed
8. I don't ever use registry cleaners or other cleanup software.
